question about my be hip snap. :( added pics
The main snap closure on my Hip looks like its going to fall out and is fraying! I have only used her 3x and bought it in EUC from another mama. What can I do to fix this??
edit: added pics to page 2.

Re: question about my be hip snap.:(
Is the top magnetic snap on the flap? Mine did the same thing. It was missing the washer behind the snap. If you can take the top snap and wrap the fabric around it, yours is probably missing too. You should be able to feel the washer behind the snap. JJB replaced mine .

yes, it is the magnetic snap. And I don't feel anything behind the snap...its just loose and flimsy if that makes any sense? Would they fix mine do you think, even though I am the second owner?

You could ask but I'm pretty sure they won't help you since you aren't the original owner.

She washed it and one of the D-rings that hold the strap to the bag broke. She contacted JJB, and they gave her a brand new bag. It's worth a try.

Re: question about my be hip snap.:(
Thank you ladies! Its the perfect bag and I was wanting to use it this weekend or try and trade her. I will contact JJB and see what they say. I sure hope there is a fix for it or it's basically ruined for me with no snap closure.

Well, I was told today they can do nothing for me because I bought it from the PR and not first hand. Ouch. I am so upset.

I'd suggest you take to a Taylor.
It's possible they could open the flap and add a washer for you.

Re: question about my be hip snap.:(
I've got the same problem with my SW hip, just noticed today, and there's no washer! It's my favourite bag and I'm super bummed. If I take it to a tailor and tell them it needs a washer behind the snap will they know what I'm talking about? Will they have the washers there or do I need to find one and bring it? Is it going to look the same still after being opened up? I'm so sad!

Re: question about my be hip snap.:(
I called a tailor locally and they had no clue what I was asking. They suggest a new snap, but now there is weak fabric there and may need a patch. I'm really upset over it and I dont know if I want to buy used bags anymore since JJB won't fix it. The mama I bought it from says she doesn't have her purchase info either. I'm so upset about it right now. Let me know what you find out about fixing yours. If you are the original owner, contact JJB.

Re: question about my be hip snap.:(
I'm not the original owner I wouldn't mind paying to get it fixed right, would ju-ju-be fix it if I paid? Maybe a PL seamstress could fix it?

Re: question about my be hip snap.:(
Wow that is terrible. I have had several hips, one of which I used for months and nothing like that has happened. I am really surprised and disappointed about that. I hope you're able to get it fixed.

Re: question about my be hip snap.:(
I was very disappointed especially since its missing a piece, not because of wear. Anyhow, I would love a price on how much it would cost to fix. As It's now sitting unused.

Re: question about my be hip snap.:(
Hmmmm.... I think perhaps you should see whether there is someone else in customer service who can address this concern. I agree that it sounds like a piece is missing, not that it was a wear issue, and even if you aren't the original owner, it seems like *something* could be done, though you might need to pay some shipping costs or something, for example. Could you post this question in Questions for Ju-Ju-Be? I see their point, I mean, there has to be a limit on when they will fix a bag, but the Hip isn't terribly old either? I don't know.

Re: question about my be hip snap.:(
Danielle and Erin, I agree that JJB and Fulton should be ale to do something if it's a manufacturing flaw. I remember this being an issue for another mama in the past.
If they can't help, please post some pics. I'm pretty sure a PL seamstress can help. The snap may need to be replaced with a slightly larger one to maintain the fabric integrity, but at least that way, the bag is functional once more.
I'm sorry for your trouble!!!
