Post Prepared vs Spicy
I'm new here...looking to make my first JJB purchase. But I can't decide what would be best - a BePrepared or Spicy? I have twins who are 15 months old. Sometimes I leave the house with 2 smaller diaper bags (1 for diapers/toys and 1 for food) and sometimes with one big one. But none of them are living up to the durability of JJB! I tried stuffing a friend's BeAll just for kicks and convinced myself that I must go big. I'm just afraid of going too big and weighing myself down. Can anyone give a comparison of what you can get into one or the other? From my browsing, I'm guessing that someone has one of each in their stash...

Thanks!
S

A BePrepared is definitely recommended as a bag for twins. In my experience, I can fit more into a Spicy than an All, but not a whole ton more. If you want to go big, go Prepared.

I've used both and think the Spicy will be too small for you. Between the two, the be prepared would be the better option.

Good point! Now that I look at the dimensions that are listed for the Spicy, it isn't that much bigger than the All. Thanks - you've narrowed the field a little bit.

Now to try to weigh the options of a solid or a print? Purple and ME are my favs, but then it seems to be easier to find the solids out there. And maybe I could get a solid for less and dress it up with a variety of Quicks etc! But the Bl/Silver seems too plain, if I get a JJB I want it to stand out! not look like a big computer bag... I have B/G twins so the browns might be too partial to one or the other... Oh the decisions!

ME is awesome!! Someone is selling one in FSOT if you want to try it out - here's the link!

I like the idea of the BP over the Spicy; I think it holds a ton more. Plus it can be an overnight bag when the kids are older!

With twins I'd go for the BP for sure...OR have you considered waiting for the BeFab? It's only a few weeks away, squeee! ( I was so not sold on the BeFab till I saw pics of Andrea's OOAK, now, even though I KNOW it's too much bag for me, I'm fighting the urge to buy one!)

Kodes - thanks, I checked that one out and sent a message. there was also a purple listed! but I think someone probably beat me to that one.

girly prints? I can't see myself carrying something that screams pink. But the girlier prints I like haven't been made in the BP. That's why I might get some Quicks to fill in the girly gaps. If only they made the BP in the new Dizzy Daisies *sigh*

The BeFab looks too comparable in size to the BeAll, but I do like the lack of flap! And I'm feeling slow on the leather uptake...it's just not me. And my patience and old bags won't last that long!

I've got both and just for fun tried to fit Spicy into Beprepared and it fits with some room to spare :)

I think Spicy will be too small for you, and it has got less convenient bottle pockets, so if you'll want to take water for all 3 of you, you'll stuggle with Spicy. That said, Spicy probably will be perfect when the twins are potty trained and you need less stuff.

I use be prepared for longer days out, when I need to pack several meals and more spare stuff (i'm an overpacker who likes to be prepared for everything - sunshine & rain :))

It can get a bit heavy to carry on the shoulder, so I tend to clip to the pram.

Other option to consider if you are worried that Prepared is too big - Packabe. It fit's more than Spicy and IMO - more than All (because it's zipped, unlike All, you an really stuff it).

I think the spicy would be too small. My first choice would be the BeFab or the PackaBe, but if you don't like those then the BP would definitely give you the space you need. As your kids get older and it becomes too big as a daily bag you can keep it for a travel bag.

I have an ME Be Prepared and I love it! It stands out, yet it is neutral at the same time.

WSS but the BP will be heavy to carry around.

Thanks everyone!
You've convinced me. I'm going with the BP and I'm working on sending over the funds for a Purple one. Squeee!

What is "WSS"? That is one acronym I keep seeing that I just can NOT decipher!

Good choice.. I think the BP will be the best option for sure. I have both and my BP is only used for overnight type things right now.. since I only have one toddler.. but I plan to use it as hospital bag and occasionally after my next baby arrives. I love it because it does hold a lot, but if its not too stuffed it still doesn't look overwhelmingly large. I think it's a perfect 'twins' bag! :) Hope you love it!
