We are having some big changes in our family this year - my mom passed away 3 yrs. ago and my dad is getting re-married Thanksgiving weekend. This is a hard change for me and I'll be meeting my dad's fiance for the first time on Thanksgiving (we live across the country). I thought we could start a tradition to play the "hot seat" while we sit around the table. This is something we used to do on misson trips in high school. Each person takes a turn in the hot seat and everyone else says one thing that they appreciate or are thankful for about that person. I think this will help us get to know eachother better and also help us focus on the positive things that each person brings into this "new" family!
