Just wondering if someone can explain how pre-orders work, and whether or not I might be able to get my hands on a BFF in Shadow Waltz even if local retailers don't have those in stock yet? Is my only option to shop online, with a retailer who does? I had hoped to buy local and avoid shipping costs.

Preorders are just orders done prior to Ju Ju Be recieving their stock from the manufacturer (if you buy from Shop JJB) or prior to the stores recieving them from JJB.

Where in Canada are you? You may be able to get one from Room for 2 (West coast) www.roomfor2.ca or Offspring www.offspringbaby.com (East Coast) if you order with them now. Room for 2 doesn't do online orders but you can call in and do a manual order with them. I think Offspring does do online orders.

And to add to what Vicki said, I think Offspring was offering free shipping to Ontario PL's, they are in Ottawa I think.

Yes, a pre-order doesn't mean you get it before the retailer does, but basically you put your name down for whatever bag you want as soon as it arrives. Vicki organized one for west coasters through Room for 2 (who prefers to have a group order) and the east coasters often go through Offspring (I think they take individual orders.)

Thanks for clarifying! I figured preorders were basically a way of making sure you got your bag when it was in... Offspring - got to check that out. I'm in Ottawa, and I'm having a hard time finding out if my usual JJB shop is getting what I want with the order they recently put in. The staff can't really tell me, so... I must have a SW BFF, somehow or other!

They should, Nicole, b/c Room for 2 got their orders last Tuesday (in Vancouver) so the East Coast stores should be getting theirs this week if not already!
