First and most important, I am thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I am thankful for my son who was born 11 weeks early, but was as strong and healthy as he could be. My DH and I were in the middle of a moving process (my DH took a job closer to family, and so that I would be able to stay at home with the soon to be baby). My DH had already started his new job in Kansas (commuting on the weekends & staying with his parents in Kansas during the week), and I was still working my job (hadn't put in my notice yet) in Oklahoma City, and our house was up for sale. I went in to see the doctor and was unexpectedly rushed to the hospital, put in a bed to where I was basically standing on my head to keep the baby in as long as possible! My DH who was 3 and 1/2 hours away left immediately to be with me in the hospital, and my parents who were 2 hours away also drove up to be with me. I was given shots to stop the contractions & steroids to help the baby's lungs develop. The OB told me the goal was to keep the baby in as long as possible (this was on February 20th, and my due date was May 7th!) Grant was born the next day Feb. 21st at 2:03pm. The NICU was full in the hospital, so he was life-flighted to a hospital in Tulsa, OK (which was near my family, and a closer commute for my DH from Kansas). I was discharged at 11pm that evening, and my DH and I drove straight to the hospital in Tulsa. We basically moved in with my parents while Grant was in the hospital & we were trying to sell our house in OKC. (I am also thankful for loving and supportive parents) Grant was in the NICU from February 21st to April 1st. He wowed everyone with how strong he was; we didn't even have to take home any monitors. Our lives were turned upside down when Grant was born, but we wouldn't have it any other way. I prayed when I was in the hospital room by myself waiting for my DH & parents to arrive & I felt like God had put a calm on me. I knew that the doctors said he wasn't due until May 7th, but if God wanted him to be born now, nothing was going to stop it. I put it in God's hands, and He took care of us. I am so thankful for a beautiful, strong, and healthy baby boy! And if you saw him today, you would NEVER guess that he was born so early. He's at the top of the growth charts now! Sorry to make my story so long

What can I say, I'm a proud Mama!
On a lighter note...I am thankful for date nights with my DH. They are few and far between, but definitely worth the wait! Ah, Margaritas!!!

Okay, so our last date night we ended up at Toys-R-Us Christmas shopping for Grant, then went out for Margaritas!
