Honestly, if I was going to get a dad a backpack right now I would get a DadGear backpack(sorry JJB!) http://www.dadgear.com/gear_main.cfm?ID=1I have been eyeing one of these for a year almost and my guy friends all agree they look like great bags. You can find them all the time on sale places for about $60 new.

Re: Best bag for a single dad with a premie?!?
I think that would just depend on the guy. I could see a guy appreciating a backpack over a messenger strap, especially when the child is running around a lot, but guys have lots of personal preferences just like we do

Oooo, now I'm researching backpacks again Look at the Baby Sherpa one too! It reminds me of the BRB. http://www.babysherpa.com/shop/category ... packs.html

My hubby said if he was going to carry a JJB that's what he would get.

The baby sherpa looks really promising IMO, if he is going to do donated breastmilk especially. Can put a bunch of bottles in the main cooler area still frozen/partially thawed and stay cooled a long time.

My hubby likes the BFF best. He said that the grab handle is what makes it his favorite.

p.s. My hubby also likes the messenger strap better than the backpack straps.

It is a great bag for major hauls - but I've had one and it was WAY too large to take everywhere, it really is more of a hiking size, and not a get on the bus with your kid size. I love the dad gear ones. But I could see just getting a cheap hip or PB and that getting a lot of use from a dad. I have a Cinn PB that I would be willing to sell very cheap so it could do to this dad!
